English Literature Study Program Achieve PKKM Grant 2024

English literature study program received a 2024 PKKM grant which will be used for curriculum development and improving the quality and standards of IPB Cirebon students.

For the first time, the English Literature Study Program at IPB Cirebon has become one of the recipients of the PKKM grant for 2024. Previously, IPB Cirebon received a PKKM grant in 2023 for the Elementary Education and Computer Science Engineering study programs.

Radar Cirebon, the head of the English Literature Study Program, Juwintan, S.S., M.Hum., stated that the program is committed to improving student quality. She emphasized that the curriculum serves as the main foundation of education. Furthermore, this funding makes the curriculum more relevant to the workplace.

“We will invite experts and former DUDI (Dunia Kerja and Dunia Industri) professionals related to our needs,” she said.

Moreover, Juwintan intends to build DUDI partnerships locally and nationally as part of her role as the head of the study program. These partnerships will align with the graduate profiles in journalism, translation, business, and digital literature.

She added that the study program consistently strives to support students in pursuing their interests. This year, the program has established partnerships for internships in creative fields, such as digital media, export-import, newspapers, translation, and publishing.

Additionally, she hopes this grant will improve educational services by enhancing learning quality through better facilities like language laboratories and human resource development. “This forms the foundation for our goal of becoming a superior study program,” she said.

Program Kompetisi Kampus Merdeka (PKKM)

In conclusion, the PKKM program aims to raise the country’s competitiveness by developing higher education. By enhancing the relevance and quality of higher education, the program targets the achievement of eight Key Performance Indicators (IKU). PKKM has revitalized campuses and seeks to improve teaching quality and human resources. The program motivates universities across Indonesia to enhance learning quality, boost lecturer competence, and align education with the workforce.

With this program, Juwintan hopes that the graduates will be accepted nationally and internationally in the workplace. She is grateful to have achieved a PKKM grant because this will help develop MBKM programs at IPB Cirebon. (elv)
