In mid-June 2024, IPB CIREBON succeeded in making cooperation with one of the companies engaged in translation, namely KATAGONIA LANGUAGE SOLUTION. The purpose of this collaboration is to strengthen the relationship between IPB CIREBON and KATAGONIA LANGUAGE SOLUTION.
KATAGONIA LANGUAGE SOLUTION itself is a translation company founded in 2011 by Mr. Sony Novian. This company not only provides oral translation services but also document translation. Many clients have made KATAGONIA LANGUAGE SOLUTION as a translator service both from domestic and abroad.
Why did IPB CIREBON chose KATAGONIA?
In addition to the previously stated objectives, there are other things behind this collaboration.
“Because English literature is one of its outputs, one of which is that graduates become a translator/translator or interpreter. coincidentally our partner is suitable. KATAGONIA is in accordance with the output of the English literature study program. so it is very relate.” said Mr. Fedro Iswandi as the lecturer of Translation Eng-Ind.
In addition, Mr. Fedro Iswandi explained that students can have the opportunity to contribute to the company. This is because the company is a real workplace, different from the campus environment.
“KATAGONIA is a real workplace, not a place like in campus. so maybe the contribution is that after the students study at the English literature study program they get provisions. So later they can contribute … one of them is becoming a document translator or translator at events.” said Mr. Fedro Iswandi.
Then, Mr.Fedro Iswandi also explained the extent to which students can contribute to the company.
“The extent to which he can contribute to the company can depends on how he contributes during class. If he is active during class, then we can be sure he can contribute to the company. So, the extent to which he can contribute depends on how far he forges himself during lectures.”Mr. Fedro Iswandi explained.
Expectations from this coorporation
Mr. Fedro Iswandi’s hope from this collaboration is that students after graduating will be directly recruited by the company.
“The hope is that after graduating, students can be directly recruited by the company. This is because the company is in accordance with the output of the Translation course.”
