Alika’s motivation
“My motivation in participating in this reading ambassador is to familiarize the children of the golden generation, of course, who will transform the culture of literacy in 2045, so that they get used to reading and do not forget reading books.” She said.
What is Duta Baca event?
According to Alika, Duta Baca event is a forum for implementing literacy interest in cirebon district. Duta Baca event is organized by the cirebon district library which is located at jl sunan drajat no 9. Due to the lack of interest in reading in indonesia, She as reading ambassador rushes to increase interest in reading so that the implementation of the transformation of the literacy culture of the golden generation 2045.
Efforts that will be made after becoming a Reading Ambassador
“The effort that I will make is to socialize to elementary schools in the Cirebon district area inviting children to get used to reading books at least 1 sheet a day so that we do not forget this literacy culture.” She concluded.
How about the process?
Alika said that the process is quiet simple, namely :
· Registering
· Completing administrative files
· Taking part in debriefing material
· Taking written tests and interview
· Attending trainings
“after that stage we will attend the grand final if we pass the interview stage.” She concluded.
She also added that the process of becoming a reading ambassador took about 22 days. (from registration to grand final)
Tips for winning Duta Baca event
In an interview session conducted right after Alika won the Duta Baca event, she shared 5 tips to win the event :
· Practice to speak clearly, concisely, and not long-windedly
· Stay focus on yourself, (don’t pay attention to the success of others because it will affect our perspective)
· Master the material well
· Master public speaking well and smoothly
· Prepare yourself more thoroughly during the interview session, so that you can answer questions correctly
What is the impact of the contribution of Duta Baca last year?
“As far as I know the impact of the contribution of the reading ambassadors last year was very effective, especially in Cirebon district, now many libraries are active again and also more and more communities are running because the reading ambassadors last year often conducted socialization to areas in Cirebon district.” She said.

“My impression is that it is very exciting and happy to be able to meet finalist friends who are amazingly great. My message is to never give up on the situation, keep fighting as much as possible. there is no word can’t, everything can be done if we want to try and try.”
