Cirebon, July 24, 2024 – To improve the quality of education, the English Literature Study Program of Institut Prima Bangsa conducted a discussion group forum activity with the English Studies Association in Indonesia (ESAI). This activity, a strategic step in updating the curriculum, took place in two sessions, on July 24 and August 1, 2024.
This discussion group forum aims to reorient curriculum development by national policy standards, including indicators from the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) and the National System of Higher Education (SN-DIKTI). This activity also focuses on implementing the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), a Ministry of Education and Culture priority program.

“This consultation is essential so that the curriculum we develop will be suitable for the demands of the world of education and industry,” said the coordinator of this activity, Astri Dwi Floranti. The output of this discussion is expected to be the renewal of the curriculum book for the IPB Cirebon English Literature Study Program for the 2024 academic year.
The first activity, which was carried out online through the Zoom platform, was attended by seven participants, including lecturers and educational practitioners. The discussion took place in an informal but focused atmosphere hosted by a moderator experienced in literary education.
The second session will be held on August 1, 2024, in a different venue, namely in the Meeting Room of Institut Prima Bangsa Cirebon, where seven participants are also expected to make maximum contributions to improving the curriculum.
The results of the implementation of the two activities include a reorientation of the study program curriculum’s vision, mission, and objectives, as well as a graduate profile that is more relevant to current needs. In addition, the learning outcomes of graduates and the courses taught will also be updated to ensure the quality and relevance of education provided to students.
With this activity, it is expected that the English Literature Study Program of IPB Cirebon can produce graduates who are competent and ready to face the challenges of the times and meet the expectations of higher education stakeholders in Indonesia.
