Cirebon, Indonesia – A remarkable achievement has been made by Cecep Agus, M.Hum, an English Literature lecturer at IPB Cirebon. He has successfully secured funding from Kemenristekdikti for the Community Service Program (PKM) 2025.
His winning proposal, “Empowering Housewives through Training on Mango Product Diversification to Improve Family Economy,” aims to strengthen women’s roles in improving household income. By training housewives to innovate with mango-based products, the program not only promotes local resources but also creates new economic opportunities.
Why This Proposal Matters
When asked why he chose this proposal, Mr. Cecep explained that his idea was born out of concern for the community. He observed various challenges in the target area, yet he also recognized hidden potential. “I saw many problems in the community, but at the same time, they could become business opportunities to help improve the economy through local wisdom,” he said.
Research Area and Program Implementation
The initiative is being carried out in Kedung Krisik, Arga Sunya Village, Harjamukti District, Cirebon City. For the past three months, the program has already been running successfully. Housewives in the area have joined training sessions on mango product diversification, from processed snacks to value-added goods. This activity not only supports entrepreneurship but also encourages sustainable economic development.
Duration and Future Plans
Mr. Cecep has dedicated three months to researching and implementing this program. However, this is not the end of his journey. “I will continue this community service by exploring the same field with different aspects,” he explained. His long-term goal is to expand the project, ensuring that local families gain lasting benefits from the training.
